Drainage beneath the green

HOW SUBAIR WORKS

SubAir subsurface aeration units can be connected to the existing drainage systems already installed under the green.  This allows for there to be no disruption in play during installation.

All SubAir permanent units are electric and the portable AirForceOne is gas driven.

During vacuum mode, SubAir units remove excess water from the profile allowing you to manage water usage and control salinity.

Pressure mode allows you to provide fresh oxygen to plant roots, prevent anaerobic conditions (black layer), and remove harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and hydrogen sulfide from the root zone.

SubAir provides temperature moderation forcing 55 degree (Fahrenheit) air up through the profile to cool or warm the turf depending on the time of year.

"What we've learned about controlling air and water ratios beneath the surface will help us
gain control of the battle at the
top, in the organic layer. "

Marsh Benson,
Senior Director of
Golf Course and Grounds ,
Augusta National Golf Club

For moisture control, a water separator routes
air to the blower and
water to a drainage area.
During aeration the
SubAir unit moves air upward or downward through the soil.
